Privacy Summary: M-FX operates on strict data minimization. No accounts or logins are required. M-FX does not intentionally persist raw GPS coordinates in its application database or local app storage; coordinates are processed for immediate country and currency resolution. Advertising is provided via the Yandex Mobile Ads SDK and associated AppMetrica components; on iOS, tracking identifiers are accessed solely when explicit App Tracking Transparency (ATT) authorization is granted. If tracking is denied, advertising identifier tracking is explicitly disabled in the SDK, and the app remains fully functional. Location tracking within the advertising SDK is permanently disabled. Your preferences and calculations remain on your device.
1. Service Overview & Developer Identity
Mefico FX: Foreign Exchange (brand: M-FX) is developed and operated by Mefico Studio. M-FX is strictly an informational foreign exchange utility.
No Brokerage: M-FX does not execute trades, offer financial accounts, or maintain custody of funds.
2. Location Data & Region Detection
Location detection is optional and used solely to detect your country and prioritize your local currency:
- Optional Precise GPS: Evaluated only when explicitly initiated by the user via secure TLS/HTTPS POST directly to
/api/v1/location.php. - No Raw Coordinate Persistence: M-FX does not intentionally persist raw GPS coordinates in its application database or local app storage. Coordinates are evaluated in-memory for country resolution and discarded immediately upon request completion.
- IP Geolocation Fallback: If GPS is denied, standard coarse network IP headers are used.
- User Controls: Location access can be revoked at any time in device settings.
M-FX Server Location Processing
Optional GPS coordinates are transmitted exclusively to M-FX's own server (
https://mefico-fx.com/api/v1/location.php) for immediate country and currency resolution, and are not intentionally persisted in databases or logs.Yandex Mobile Ads Location Isolation
M-FX explicitly disables location tracking in the third-party advertising SDK (
YandexAds.setLocationTracking(false)). Zero GPS coordinates are passed to ad targeting.3. Device & Application Storage
User selections and portfolio entries remain sandboxed on your client device:
- Flutter Mobile: Saved in isolated on-device application storage (mobile sandbox local storage and app preferences /
SharedPreferenceswhere applicable). - Web: Stored within browser-level
localStorage.
✓ Portfolio calculations and asset values are never uploaded to our servers or third parties.
4. Advertising & Third-Party SDK Disclosures
M-FX integrates the Yandex Mobile Ads SDK (v8.4.0) in its production mobile applications to support server infrastructure and exchange rate feeds:
Integrated Ad Formats
- Rewarded Advertisements: Fully optional, user-initiated video ads to increase daily rate lookup quotas.
- App Open Advertisements: Periodically shown when resuming the app after more than 30 seconds of background inactivity. Suppressed during onboarding and permission flows.
SDK Data Processing Mechanics
Third-party advertising SDKs (Yandex Mobile Ads and associated AppMetrica native components) may process technical device indicators, approximate network details, and ad interaction metrics for ad rendering, delivery verification, frequency control, anti-fraud protection, and diagnostics subject to platform permissions and SDK configuration.
iOS Platform & App Tracking Transparency (ATT / IDFA)
On iOS, M-FX integrates Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework and declares
NSUserTrackingUsageDescription. M-FX requests user permission before any tracking occurs. If authorized, the Yandex Mobile Ads SDK and AppMetrica may use your device identifier (IDFA) for ad performance measurement. If denied, M-FX explicitly disables identifier tracking (isAdvertisingIdentifierTrackingEnabled = false), and M-FX remains fully functional. Yandex SDK location tracking remains permanently disabled (setLocationTracking(false)), and M-FX's optional GPS country detection is completely separate.Android Platform & Advertising ID (AD_ID)
On Android, the release manifest includes
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID inherited from Yandex/AppMetrica dependencies. M-FX application code does not directly request or log AAID. This permission is used solely by Google Play Services and SDK runtime libraries for ad delivery and anti-fraud purposes; it is never linked to user accounts.EEA & Switzerland Advertising Privacy Controls
Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland have access to an in-app advertising consent sheet. Choices are stored locally on device and can be modified anytime in Settings > Ad Privacy.
M-FX does not sell personal data to data brokers or cross-app tracking networks.
5. In-App Purchases
Version 1.0 has no in-app purchases or paid subscription locks. All currency calculation tools are free.
